Lately my computer fan goes from its quiete state to blowing really loudly
even if i dont have a program running. my first thought was maybe it was
overheating internally so i turned it off, left it for over 15 minutes to
cool down, and when i rebooted it after 30 seconds it did it again. its not
constantly doing it but every so often it will rev up for a few seconds to
maybe a minute. I dont want to take it to a computer repair because every
time i do they screw it up and it costs me 100s of dollars. If there is
anything I can do to fix this please post!

TylerB,

I have the same issue also, and I was unable to find any significant amounts
of dust to cause this issue. However, i notice that when I reached around the
back of the pc while it was running, that area was quite warm. I have since
moved the pc to an area that allows for more airflow, and the problem seems
to have gone away mostly.

Hope this helps,
Gavin
